Learning about Internet Governance on inSIG 2016 will Continue after Closing as Well [Day 3 Highlights]

The Day 3: Wednesday, 2 Nov 2016 was the last day of the first inSIG in Hyderabad, India. Every fellow was excited to be there.

It started with the session of Olivier Crepin Leblond from At-Large on the topic Participating in IG organizations and processes.

Right after the Olivier’s session Parminder Jeet Singh from IT4Change that is an Non Profit Organization working for reforms in Internet Space in India talked about Human Rights, Culture, Democracy, and Developing Countries in context of Internet Governance.

His session was so knowledge filled that everybody need energy to grab more knowledge from other speakers and Tea break was called.
Right after the tea break Sandra Hoferichter from EuroDIG explained us the importance of Participating in Internet Governance organizations and processes.

Here comes my favorite session IG Perspectives in Legal terms by Vinay Kesari from CCWG where he told how law of different states see internet governance.

There were streams of Questions and Answers in between almost every session.

Now everyone was hungry and it was the time for regaining the energy to learn more from the upcoming sessions. Lunch was called off.

Right after the lunch Sunil Abraham from CISIG talked about the Internet Governance Issues related to Zero Rating, Net Neutrality, Intermediary Liability.

Now it was the time of the last session at the inSIG 2016 where the Panel discussed the Challenges for the Post-Transition Ecosystem: Accountability, Governance, Diversity. John Laprise (IG Strategist) chaired this panel discussion with other panelists naming Sandra Hoferichter (EuroDIG), Prashant Sugathan (SFLC), Kilnam Chon (APSIG), Nick Thorne (Former UK Ambassador to UN).

There were some more speakers which were not in the list. They were experts of their work field who shared their views about internet governance.

In the end Certificates were distributed to all the national and international fellows. It was a hard time to leave but with the hope of making internet better, all parted with a smile by greeting each other.
