The Day 1 at inSIG 2016 at IIIT Hyderabad was tiring for me and may be for everyone. I attended that after a travel of 15 hours straightaway.
Today the second day on 1st of November at India School on Internet Governance organized at IIIT Hyderabad went great with a lot of learning, fun, knowing more people and in the end the much admired treat of “Hyderabadi Biryani” at one of the famous restaurants of Hyderabad that ie Paradise.
Lets start with the day’s proceedings:
Day 2 at inSIG 2016 started with the mind blowing interactive session of Alan Greenberg, ALAC on the topic Internet Governance Perspectives in Public Interest.
After the insightful session of Alan, Milton Mueller from NCUC took over the stage and discussed the social, cultural and political aspect of Internet Governance. He explained us how fragmented the internet governance is in the society and opinions were welcomed from the audiences over it.
Now it was the time for a quick tea break to recharge the energy for the following sessions.
It was the time to call upon the official from government of India, Rahul Gosain who shared the governmental views about the internet governance. This was a hot session where participants were eager to ask a lot and lots of questions from him but due to shortage of time only few were served.
Now the most awaited session came for whom everyone was waiting. It was a slot for the lunch. The lunch was finger licking good.

After lunch there was the most interesting session of the day which made each of the participant juggling in the hall with the cards. These cards were not normal cards. These cards some into routers, some into local networks and channels, some into registry, some into ICANN and many more. This role play activity was joyful and explained how information flows in an network.
Really Srinivas Chendi (Sunny) from APNIC made everyone understand that how data packet transfer in a network and told us about IG Perspectives in accordance with Tech and Engineering. Sunny distributed lots of goodies here in the session and I got one too. Best part.
Now the time for another panel discussion on the topic The IANA Transition: Testimony to Multistakeholderism in Action. It was chaired by Izumi Okutani (CRISP/JPNIC) and other panelists were Milton Mueller (NCUC) and Dr Govind (ISOC-DEL) It was a very informative session and I personally learnt new insights about IANA.
The knowledge was overflowing and to balance the things it was called off for a small tea break and till then have a look at the inSIG Day 1 Proceedings
Now it was a high time of a knowledge filled Panel Discussion on ICANN Accountability Post Transition: Workstream 2. It was chaired by Asha Hemrajani (ICANN Board) and the panelists were Sébastien Bachollet (At-Large), Izumi Okutani (JPNIC), Becky Burr (Neustar).
Now the last session of the day on the topic Evolution of the Multistakeholder Model: Past, Present and Future was presided by Rinalia Abdul Rahim, ICANN Board. He explained us how the multistakeholder model was working, is working and will work for Internet Governance.
This was officially the last session of the day but there were three more participants who shared their views. These were Sai and Japleen. Japleen talked about Cybercrimes against Women & Minorities on Social Media.
There were goodies for who had asked questions or participated in one form of other as an audience. Here are the smiling faces.
